CALTEX
Originally only a supplier of pylon signs to Caltex SA on the Delta Project, First African Holdings first engaged with Caltex back in 2002 when we were asked to tender for all Caltex SA's signage needs.
The brief was to keep the look consistent, but to save costs where possible by optimising the designs of all the signage elements. Our inputs led to significant savings being realized through the redesign of various aspects of the signage. The result was a contract to become Caltex SA's sole supplier of signage for NTI (New-To-Industry) sites.
Over the last few years the project has extended to help with the organisation’s rebranding to the new Chevron global image. When Caltex SA was officially renamed to Chevron SA, in line with the company's international name change, we manufactured the signs for the Head Office and regional offices.
In 2006 we were asked to oversee the Techron rollout through which around 800 sites were visited across South Africa to install the new 'with Techron' panels on all the pylons countrywide.
For the last few years we have been assisting Chevron with its new 2020 image. The first site, MV Motors in Paarl, was installed in February 2010. Since then 77 sites have been rebranded and the plan is to continue rolling out approximately 40 sites per year.
The new design combines modernized elements and vibrant LED lighting to create a uniquely powerful image that improves long-range visibility, offers a warm, inviting customer environment and maximizes lighting quality and energy cost savings.
A full array of signage components including company logos, wordmarks, pylons, canopies, column spreaders, bulkheads, shopfront, LED lightline, directional signs and trash valets were deployed as part of this project.
